Fall is here and that means it can be more dangerous for drivers on the roads because of Minnesota's population of more than one million deer.

State officials say the animals are moving around because it's deer breeding season and while crops are being harvested.

The emerald ash borer, a beetle that attacks and kills ash trees, is hibernating until spring.

The beetle is inactive between Labor Day and May 1st most years, but since this year has been unusually warm, it was active through September.

Baby Falcon Rescued in Downtown St. Paul

A baby falcon in downtown St. Paul got a helping hand today, after it smashed into a window.

The call came into the 5 EYEWITNESS News newsroom from a viewer saying that a baby kestral couldn't fly away after it hit the glass because it was so young.

Spring Turkey Hunt Application Deadline Approaches

Turkey hunters have more time this year than they have traditionally had in the past to apply for this spring’s hunt, either electronically or by telephone. The deadline to apply for the 2011 spring season has been extended by about two weeks. Applications are now being accepted through Friday, Jan.

Solar Panels Going up to Heat Water

Mayor Chris Coleman is lauding a new downtown solar project that will be the largest solar thermal energy project in the Midwest. It's being funded by a $1 million grant through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and matching funds from District Energy St.

More Cameras Coming to Lake Phalen

The St. Paul City Council has agreed to pay for four more cameras around Lake Phalen. The council voted 6-0 tonight, to approve $100,000 for the project.

The City started looking in to the possibility of putting up cameras after several women were attacked in 2008 and 2009.
