Millions of people are expected to crowd IHOP's nationwide today, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 -- for free pancakes!   The restaurant is celebrating National Pancake Day.  Although the flapjacks are free, customers are encouraged to make a donation.  The effort has raised $8 million in its seven years.

Large crowds gathered at Porky's in St. Paul Friday, a few days before the decades-old restaurant closes its doors.

Nora Truelson and her late husband opened Porky's in 1953, establishing it as the St. Paul gathering place on Saturday nights.

Winter Restaurant Week Begins

Food lovers on a budget can indulge in the Twin Cities finest restaurant this week.

45 of the area's top restaurants will be offering special food and wine discounts as part of Minneapolis - St. Paul Magazine's Winter Restaurant Week.

From February 27 through March 4, diners can enjoy two-course lunches for $10 or $20, and Dinner for $15 or $30.

Plan for the Mississippi Riverfront

For the second time this month residents in St. Paul got a chance to see what the city is looking to build on riverfront property. Last year the city received state money to develop about 17 miles of property along the Mississippi River that runs through downtown St. Paul.

Over the next year the city will take suggestions and come up with the best plan.
