Ramsey County Environment Response Fund Creates 4,370 Jobs

A recent report shows that the Ramsey County Environmental Response Fund has created 4,370 permanent jobs and 1,154 new housing units.

Ramsey County Hosts Auction of St. Paul Home

Ramsey County will be hosting an auction of tax-forfeited land in February.

Tax-forfeited land means that real estate taxes were not paid on the property and the title was instead given to the State of Minnesota. The properties not acquired by Ramsey County are then available for sale through a public auction.

9-11 Memorial on Display at State Capitol

A 9-11 memorial sculpture is now on display at the State Capitol – but only for a short time.

The sculpture is called “Two Different Paths” and was created by Minnesota artist and architect John Yust. They are two identical sculptures with different finishes -- one is etched in steel and the other in stainless steel.

Panel Recommends $241M Renovation of Minn. Capitol

An advisory panel is calling for a $241 million renovation of the Minnesota Capitol building.

But members of the Capitol Preservation Commission did not recommend how to pay for the project. The report outlines scenarios using up to three bonding bills to cover the full cost.

The panel sent the report to the state Legislature Wednesday.

St. Paul's 2012 Park Permit Lottery is Tuesday

The St. Paul Parks Permit Office will hold a permit lottery Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. Any resident or business wanting to participate in the lottery must register and be present at the office on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Crews Remove Protective Fabric from State Capitol Dome

The State Capitol dome in St. Paul is almost back to normal.

Crews were removing the protective fabric from the golden lantern finial that was being restored on top of the capitol dome. The work was delayed last week because of heavy winds.
