West St. Paul Teacher, Students Searching for Missing Dog | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Students and staffers at Garlough Environmental Magnet School in West St. Paul are trying to help their teacher find a rescue dog who ran away from home Monday.
Melanie Parkinson says her 4-year-old fawn boxer, Frankie, was last seen running down Interstate 35E near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit in St. Paul Monday night. She was out of town at a conference at the time. Parkinson says Frankie got away before police or animal control was able to catch him.
Parkinson says Frankie is a rescue dog who is being trained as a therapy dog. She often brings Frankie to Garlough with her to accompany students during the school day and consider him their favorite "teacher". She says students had been collecting food for a local food shelf in order to win a prize of taking a walk with Frankie and Parkinson.
Students say they're worried sick about Frankie's safety and have distributed fliers across St. Paul in order to find him.
If you have seen Frankie or know of his whereabouts, please call 651-271-0554.
