Hundreds of Kids Shop for Gifts with St. Paul Cops | Community Spirit

Hundreds of kids took part in the St. Paul Police Department's 11th annual Shop With Cops program Saturday.

Officers paired up with elementary-aged kids from Frogtown, Summit-University and other surrounding neighborhoods and helped them shop for gifts for their families.

They started at 9 a.m. at the St. Paul Police Western District headquarters located at 389 North Hamline Avenue. The shoppers walked together to the Midway SuperTarget, and after the shopping spree, meet back at headquarters for lunch and present wrapping.

The St. Paul Police Department says the program was established not only to help the children and their families, but also as a way to foster positive relationships between police officers and community youth.
