St. Paul Rotary Club Commissions 'Peace' Statue for Nagasaki, Japan | Community Spirit

Work began yesterday in Ramsey County for a memorial that symbolizes peace and goodwill.
Artist Bill Hueg is creating an eight-foot tall bronze replica of Ramsey County’s iconic sculpture “Vision of Peace” by Carl Milles.
The project, which is being created in Memorial Hall of the Ramsey County Courthouse, is commissioned by the Rotary Club of St. Paul. It will be given to the Rotary Club of Nagasaki, Japan, and installed at the entrance to the Nagasaki Peace Park and Nuclear Holocaust Museum.
According to a statement from Ramsey County, the statue will serve as a reminder of the peace and goodwill between the Rotary clubs and the people of St. Paul and Nagasaki.
