3,500 Local Hospital Workers Vote to Strike

About 3,500 members of the Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to strike. After two days of voting, 91 percent supported the strike option.

If the union calls a 2-5 day strike it would affect:

-Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina
-Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis

St. Paul is about to become home to a chocolate lover's paradise. Dr. Chocolate's Chocolate Chateau opens in June in the former location of Il Vesco Vino and the Vintage restaurants near Selby and Dale. The business will have a large selection of chocolates and also coffee and wine.

A national ride inspector will be out at Valleyfair April 30-May 2 checking out all the rides and making sure they are safe for operation before opening day May 12. Park officials are also conducting test runs on all the rides.

St. Paul's biggest party is about to get simpler. Grand Old Day will be celebrating its 39th year this summer on Sunday, June 3rd. After hearing complaints, the Grand Avenue Business Association says there will be no food tickets this year.
