WEB FORECAST: Tornado Watch in Effect until 9 p.m. Sunday

A tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday for central and southern Minnesota. Part of western Wisconsin is also included.

Strong storms are expected to rapidly develop this afternoon and could bring heavy rain, strong winds and hail.

The afternoon will remain muggy until winds blow in with the thunderstorms. The high will be 80 with a low around 60.

National Safe Boating Week Begins

As the ice comes off more Minnesota lakes, safety officials are highlighting Saturday's start to National Safe Boating Week.
    
The St. Paul District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the best thing a person can do to stay safe on the water is to wear a life vest or personal flotation device.
    

St. Paul Man Dies After Being Hit by Semi in Wis.

A 63-year-old St. Paul man was killed after being hit by a semi at a Wisconsin truck stop Friday.

Glenn Michael Augustine was hit at Hixton Travel Plaza while in the parking lot, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Officials say Augustine was walking away from his semi when he was hit.

Health Officials: Hepatitis C Test Needed for MN Baby Boomers

Attention baby boomers - have you been tested for hepatitis C lately?

The Minnesota Department of Health is reminding people born from 1945 through 1965 to be tested for hepatitis C. The reminder comes for national hepatitis awareness month.

Currently, about 39,000 people statewide are living with the virus.

Hiawatha Light Rail Rebranded as 'Metro Blue Line'

The Hiawatha Light Rail Line is now called the Metro Blue Line. The trains will now have three cars and will run every 10 minutes throughout most of the day.

Metro officials say the new system will make it easy to understand and easy to get around.
